News This Week:
I apologize for this issue being a little late, but we’ve had a trying day here in Pinedale. You may or may not have heard, but there was a house fire earlier today that set the whole neighborhood into frenzy. The winds around here can be extreme, to say the least, and today was no exception. It also goes without saying that fire and relentless, ever-shifting winds can potentially spell disaster. But thankfully, with the help of our incredible first- responders and everyone working together, the only loss was from the initial point of ignition. Our deepest sympathies go out to those involved in the house fire, and although they were not year-round residents here in Pinedale (and they just arrived two days earlier, and also volunteer at our local library), we will be reaching out to them to offer any help we can give. We feel that it is very important to help others! This world has gone too far astray into hatred and selfishness; if people could only realize that other people are people too, no matter who they are or where they come from/what they look like. Human kindness is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed by us… human kind! Do keep in mind if you travel up north to go camping, please be mindful of any campfires or cigarettes, as it only takes one small ember to travel and take a toll on so many other lives. We watched this fire jump and spread within minutes.

Even just witnessing a random act of kindness can produce oxytocin, occasionally referred to as the ‘love hormone’ which aids in lowering blood pressure and improving overall heart health. Kindness can also help to increase energy levels, happiness, pleasure, and even lengthen lifespan. Kindness stimulates the production of serotonin- This feel-good chemical heals your wounds, calms you down, and makes you happy. It also helps to decrease pain, stress levels, anxiety, and depression. So random acts of kindness not only help others, but they also have a positive effect on your overall health as well. However, this does not include selfish acts of kindness- only by acting from a place of love, and out of true kindness and caring for others can these benefits be achieved. So get out there and help others, but remember, no cheating!
