News This Week:
Happy April everyone! We hope you had a great Easter and didn’t fall subject to any harmless April Fool’s shenanigans. Although if you did, we’d love to hear about it! This week we are proud to announce that the Greenhouse is fully planted!!! We’ve got lots of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, bell peppers, peas, lettuce, kale… and we now also have 33 chickens and 10 ducks. So this Market Season we will have lots of fresh goodies for everyone! Not to mention all of our other great products like herbal teas and bitters, fire ciders, and all of our skin care products too. We are so excited for this season; we can hardly wait for it to begin!

April is National Humor Month, and what a great thing to celebrate! Each issue this month will end with a joke, though I have to warn you, I’ve been told my jokes are pretty terrible at times. But it’s the thought that counts, right? After all, a laugh a day helps keep the doctor away. In fact, laughing decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain, although I wouldn’t recommend this for rib fractures. Laughing burns calories and improves the function of blood vessels and blood flow, which can help protect against heart attack and cardiovascular problems. Laughter brings people together in ways that trigger healthy emotional and physical changes in the body. It also helps to relax the whole body and can release muscle tension for up to 45 minutes. So let food, and laughter, be thy medicine.
