Health & Wellness:

With New Year’s just around the corner, we’ve all probably got those infamous “resolutions” on our minds. Eat better, drink less, quit smoking, exercise more, be more spiritual… (and that’s just My list!) But why wait for New Year’s to fix things?  The major reason why most people don’t stick with their New Year’s resolutions is that people hate big changes! It takes a very stable state of mind to make serious drastic changes all at once in one’s life and be able to adjust without any side effects. So the secret, it would seem, is to make smaller changes over a period of time to kind of ease yourself into things. For example: Instead of a strict, hard-core diet, cut out a few things every week that you know you shouldn’t be eating or drinking until you eventually reach your desired goal; Or swap out a night or two of forced cardio workouts for a night or two of dancing or yoga. If you have to make sudden changes for medical or other reasons, there are several natural remedies to help facilitate changes in a positive manner and lessen the effects they have on the body, both physically and psychologically. Many herbs and (believe it or not) crystals have subtle and profound effects on the human body. Since the beginning of time, people of every culture have worked with earth elements such as these to alter various states of dis-ease. Recent scientific studies are revealing what ancient “healers” have always known, although there is no logical explanation for many of these effects. Mother Nature knows best after all, even though she won’t ever tell us why… until we’re older.
