WINTER GARDEN COMING UP
Fall is here, and our greenhouse has been completely replanted with cool-season crops. The first of the sprouts are starting to show, and soon we will have lots of lettuce, kale, radishes, cucumbers, squash, carrots, spinach, and cauliflower.
Mom planted 21 Butternut Squash seeds that sprouted right away and have been doing well. Even though they’re still small, they’re getting close to forming flower buds, which means the squash will be forming soon thereafter. Those will still be a little while before harvesting, yet should do well and we should have a ton of them.
The Brussel’s sprouts, broccoli, and some onions have been planted but will take a bit longer before they are harvest-ready. Plus, we plan to grow tomatoes and peppers year-round and already have quite a few new plants coming up.
We are still building more raised beds though so there will be plenty more to come. So, help us out and keep your fingers crossed that the top to our greenhouse holds out this winter. Hopefully soon, we will have lots of fresh, organic veggies for you. Stay tuned and don’t hesitate to ask questions.
