Pinedora Farms Weekly
Issue 22 October 23, 2017
News This Week:
As most of you know, our vision here for Pinedora Farms is a big one! We are in the process of building an organic farm, where self-sustainability, and working with nature are of utmost importance. But also in the works is our holistic healthcare/ educational center. We are in the beginning stages of putting together various curriculums for classes and workshops that we plan to teach, on subjects ranging from organic growing practices and cooking classes, to yoga & meditation, and herbal medicine & their histories. We will also be giving tours of our farm and discussing various aspects of off-grid homesteading. Our goal is to teach and inspire others to become part of the growing number of people who are taking their health back into their own hands. Check out our new website for more updates and new video blogs to see all the projects that Pinedora is involved with.
Health & Wellness:
Being that I just had two teeth extracted today, I feel it’s the perfect time to discuss oral health. Did you know that your oral health is connected to your over-all health? Good dental hygiene can not only help prevent bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease, but also helps to lower your risk of serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke, poorly controlled diabetes, and preterm labor. Your mouth is a window into what is going on in the rest of your body, often serving as a vantage point for detecting early signs and symptoms of systemic disease. A look inside, or a swab of saliva; can tell your doctor volumes about what’s going on inside your body. But you can help to avoid painful and expensive dental visits (no offense dentists… you do great work!!) by following a few simple, basic steps:
Brush teeth twice a day
Floss regularly, and use mouthwash
