March is National Nutrition Month, and boy are we excited!! This is a topic very near and dear to our hearts, and we’re overjoyed by the recent up rise in others wanting to learn more and take their health back into their own hands as well. You would think with all the recent advancements in medical science that there would be a cure for everything… well ironically enough there is- in plants! Since the dawn of human existence we have relied on plants for many of our nutritional needs. Humans are supposedly omnivorous but when you take a closer look at certain biological and anatomical traits, it poses a pretty serious argument for the herbivore side of things. And while we have adapted to include animal products into our menu, they are not necessary for survival, and most actually thrive off of a plant-based diet. But like anything it’s all about a proper balance and achieving the level of health that’s right for YOU! Everyone is different in what their bodies need, and no one single diet is able to offer that. And people often forget about the mental factors involved with diet and lifestyle changes. Only by putting all of the little puzzle pieces together are we able to see the whole picture, and just staring at the picture on the box won’t get things put together any faster. Many of us know what we need to do to be healthy, but it takes action to complete the goal! We can think about being healthy all day long, but until we actually do it for ourselves (or force-feed our husbandsJ) then nothing will ever get done. If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask!   1. I quit dieting in January and am losing weight. It” a lot of work to stop that diet mentality. I constantly have to re program my brain after a fun day of indulging, that I won”t be getting back on my diet” the next day. But, the freedom from the constant self criticism is such a relief! I eat clean. I find that the easiest and healthiest way to keep on this new path. Thanks for your articles Andy, always enjoy them!
