News This Week:
There isn’t a whole lot of news to report this week, so this article will be dedicated to a topic that we love and greatly appreciate here at Pinedora Farms…
No-Shave November! J It all started back in 2004 with a goal of growing awareness by embracing our hair (which many cancer patients lose) and letting it grow wild and free. People then donate the money they typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, help save lives, and to aid those fighting the battle.
And while I don’t exactly encourage our female readers to skip the shaving, we can still help do our part by cutting back on certain grooming practices. I don’t mean proper hygiene, that’s essential, just some of the little things us ladies do to feel extra pretty. The holiday season is all about helping people, so let’s all do our part for those in need. And men… grow those beautiful beards!! Maybe even think about keeping them after November… just saying.
Health & Wellness:
Speaking of cancer prevention; it seems like every few years newer and more treatment-resisting types of cancers emerge. There have been countless studies and research done on new forms of medication that could potentially “cure” these diseases. But who’d have thought those old clichés were actually right: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and “Let thy food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food.” Though no one can say why a person with a “healthy lifestyle” develops cancer, or someone who eats junk food everyday and smokes lives to be 95, but the best ways to help prevent illness are some of the simplest. Eat right, sleep well, and just be happy! That last one can be somewhat difficult in our day and age, especially during rush-hour, but a positive and grateful attitude can really go a long way to helping over-all well-being. So, smile friends, and remember, it’s contagious!
